Beauty and Functionality - the Rolex GMT Master II Custom

As many of you will know, here at Time 4 Diamonds we strive to create and craft some of the most beautiful bespoke luxury watches on the market - this Rolex GMT-Master II is no exception. Created by our very own inhouse Time 4 Diamonds customisation team, before hitting the T4D workshop, this gorgeous timepiece began its life as a production line model Rolex GMT-Master II (ref. 116718LN). Crafted in superbly bright 18 carat yellow gold from Rolex’s own foundry, this watch is truly a show stopper and a guaranteed statement piece.

The first thing that you’ll notice about this Rolex GMT-Master II is the classic piano-black dial that contrasts perfectly with the brightness of the 18 carat yellow gold case and bracelet. The dial is finished with further 18 carat yellow gold, luminescent hour markers, which add a fresh taste of luxury to an already luxurious watch.

What makes it tick?

The movement in this GMT-Master II is Rolex’s own 3186 calibre, entirely developed and manufactured inhouse, with 30 jewels, date wheel and a power reserve of up to 50 hours. What differentiates this calibre from other similar Oyster movements is the additional 24 hour hand, that allows the wearer the ability to follow a second time zone, whilst adjusting the bezel allows the wearer to follow a third time zone. Given the GMT-Master II’s functionality, it’s no surprise that the model was designed for professional use by Pilots - many were bought by Pan Am for their staff in 1950’s.

The case and bezel on this particular Rolex GMT-Master II4 model are truly something to behold. Finished in Rolex’s 18 carat yellow gold, painstakingly founded inhouse, this robust 40mm Oyster case features custom-set round brilliant cut VS-1 diamond shoulders and crown guards, that really give this watch a sense of exclusivity. The bezel has been further set with a custom ‘Pepsi’ bezel, showcasing baguette cut red and blue gemstones, as well as VS-1 diamonds, giving this stunning timepiece a total diamond and gemstone weight of a jaw dropping 5 carats. This Rolex GMT-Master II5 also features a chic, 18 carat yellow gold Oyster bracelet with Rolex’s hallmark Oysterlock safety clasp - making the watch comfortable as well as beautiful. You might read it often when reading watch reviews, but this GMT-Master II really does sit beautifully on the wrist.
