Functionality, elegance, style and swank - this is the Time 4 Diamonds custom Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 116509. There are a vast array of Rolex Daytona models on the market and you can see most of them on the Time 4 Diamonds website, but even in the watch business, it’s rare that you get a chance to see something quite as beautiful and rare as this.
Tahiti Dial
One of the first things you simply can’t fail to notice when you’re looking at this gorgeous Rolex Daytona, is the Tahitian Mother of Pearl dial. This dial really gives the watch a distinctive personality that you can’t fail to fall in love with. Mother of pearl is a go-to choice for many of Rolex’s more luxurious models, often incorporating its innate natural tones. It’s important to mention, that given the natural origins of the material (mother of pearl comes from the inside lining of shells), no two mother of pearl dials are the same. The dial we have here in our 116509 Daytona is the best example of mother of pearl in a Rolex we’ve seen yet here at Time 4 Diamonds and has a unique iridescence and sheen. As if the dial wasn’t luxurious enough, it’s been topped off with Rolex’s 18 carat white gold Roman numeral registers and hands, creating an irresistible look that just screams good taste.
Diamond-set Bezel
Though they’ve gone through some cosmetic changes over the years, Rolex Daytona bezels have fundamentally kept the same design. This Daytona example sports an 18 carat white gold bezel that’s been diamond-set with some glittering baguette-cut VS1 stones, in colours G-H. This bezel is undoubtedly one of the principal aesthetic characteristics of this watch and really shows off the craftsmanship of our Time 4 Diamonds customisation team.
As we’ve mentioned before and as many Rolex fans will already know - Rolex are in fact the only luxury watch brand to cast their own precious metals, allowing them to guarantee quality as well as supply. To that end, this absolutely fabulous Rolex Daytona 116509 has been created in stunning 18 carat white gold that shimmers beautifully with any natural light. The case itself is a classic 40 mm Oyster case, composing of a monobloc middle with a screw-down case back and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The case has received the usual 5* treatment from the Time 4 Diamonds Customisation Department, and has been expertly set with round-brilliant cut VS1 diamonds, on both the shoulders and crown guards. Again, this is exactly the kind of artisanal work you can expect from our Custom team and really sets the watch apart.
The Oyster bracelet is an unfaltering classic that’s adorned some of the most successful watch designs of the last century and when you look at this watch, it’s easy to see why. A “perfect alchemy of form and function”, the broad, flat, three-piece links in this bracelet are made from solid, 18 carat white gold, giving them a heft and weight that immediately mark the quality.
What's under the bonnet?
As of 2000, Rolex have used their in-house designed, 4130 calibre movement in Daytona models, replacing the old Zenith-based 4030 calibre. The newer 4130 movement features 201 parts, with 44 jewels and a total power reserve of 72 hours. The movement also sports hours, minutes, small seconds, central chronograph seconds, 30 minutes counter and 12 hour counter.
