JANNIK SINNER WINS WIMBLEDON, OUTPLAYING FELLOW ROLEX AMBASSADOR CARLOS ALCARAZ IN A BREATHTAKING FINAL
Every year, Wimbledon comes around and never fails to disappoint as another breathtaking final took place on Sunday, featuring the two best players in the world Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz and of course, some of the most prominent figures in the world spectating from the crowd.
The Italian, Jannik Sinner outplayed the Spaniard, Carlos Alcaraz in a thrilling contest ending 4-6 6-4 6-4 6-4 that ultimately, came down to whoever broke each other’s serve in which Sinner did so for three consistent sets. Despite having this rivalry, they seem to have formed a bromance on and off the court with Sinner paying homage to Alcaraz throughout this campaign.
Not only are the pair friends, but they are also Rolex ambassadors with Sinner being welcomed to the Swiss brand’s family in 2020 and Alcaraz joining two years later. So when “game, set & match” had been finalised to Jannik Sinner, many were wondering what Rolex watch each of them were going to wear whilst holding their respective trophies.
The Winner, JANNIK SINNER & the ROLEX DAYTONA Reference 126515LN

It only makes sense to start with the new Wimbledon champion Jannik Sinner who has been spotted wearing the Rolex Daytona reference 126515LN, crafted in 18ct everose gold featuring the popping black ceramic bezel, oysterflex bracelet and a beautiful sundust dial.
A superb choice of dial from the Italian as the colour coordinates with the 18ct everose gold perfectly due to its rosé hue. The sundust dial is extremely underrated having first been released with the Day-Date, requiring high levels of craftsmanship because of the masterful and meticulous brushing techniques that creates a glow depending on where light hits the dial.
Equipped with the Calibre 4131, the Rolex Daytona runs smoother than ever before after the model received its upgrade in 2023 from the former Calibre 4130. This in-house chronograph Calibre 4131 faced some slight upgrades in order to improve the efficiency, accuracy and strength of the movement.

One key feature of the Calibre 4131 is Rolex’s patented Chronergy Escapement which enhances energy efficiency and reliability of timekeeping. In addition to this, the Calibre 4131 includes Paraflex Shock Absorbers, released and also patented by Rolex in 2005. This was done to increase the robustness and durability of Rolex’s movements by protecting the balance wheel and absorbing shock.
Overall, this rose gold Daytona model that Sinner wore when lifting his first-ever Wimbledon trophy is perfect, a symbol of grace and finesse, identical to his performance in the final.
The Runner-Up, CARLOS ALCARAZ & ROLEX DAYTONA “TIFFANY” Reference 126518LN

All good things must come to an end at some point with Carlos Alcaraz winning two Wimbledon trophies consecutively and entering the final on a 24-win streak which was broken by Sinner on Sunday.
When receiving his runners-up shield, Carlos Alcaraz wore the Rolex Daytona reference 126518LN, crafted in 18ct yellow gold, also featuring the black ceramic bezel and oysterflex bracelet but with a stunning turquoise blue dial, a colour aligned to Tiffany&Co.

Whenever a turquoise blue dial is ever featured with a watch, horological fanatics and enthusiasts immediately distribute the “Tiffany” nickname. This is the case for this year’s release of the Rolex Daytona reference 126518LN, also known as the Daytona “Tiffany.” Importantly, this is an unofficial collaboration between Rolex and Tiffany&Co. as its nickname has been applied by the watch community.
Released at Watches and Wonders this year, the Daytona “Tiffany” was second to the Land-Dweller for the most exciting releases from Rolex yet opinions were very divided on this piece as many questioned how this turquoise dial would have looked on a white gold reference 126519LN rather than this yellow gold reference 126518LN.

Sinner won the final, but does he win this Rolex Watch-Off?
Both being Rolex ambassadors is not a surprise as the pair are comfortably the current two best in tennis, playing at an unbelievable level. Alternatively, the Swiss brand is an official timekeeper of many tennis competitions, Wimbledon being one of them, so Sinner and Alcaraz make the perfect ambassadors for Rolex.
What is also not staggering is both players wore a Rolex Daytona which is arguably the brand’s most iconic and popular model to have ever been released, but whose model is better? Whilst Alcaraz’s newly released Daytona “Tiffany” has some fanatics going crazy, the configuration of Sinner’s Daytona is perfect with the beautifully finished sundust dial matching the tone and hue of Rolex’s 18ct everose gold.
