Time 4 Diamonds has stocked and fitted factory and custom Audemars Piguet dials from our London workshop since 2005, covering the Royal Oak, Royal Oak Offshore and Royal Oak Chronograph families. Each dial is fitted in-house by watchmakers who handle the dismantling, fitting, assembly and testing end-to-end. Every fit comes with a 12 month warranty on parts and workmanship. Replacement and custom dials are a core part of our Audemars Piguet customisation work, alongside bezel and strap upgrades.
Audemars Piguet dials we stock
Our Audemars Piguet dial inventory covers the three formats that account for almost all buyer demand.
Factory AP dials. Original Audemars Piguet dials, matched by reference to your specific case. These are drop-in replacements for refinishing tired pieces, correcting storage damage or changing the colour of an existing Royal Oak or Offshore without going bespoke. Most factory stock is for the 41mm Royal Oak (15400, 15500) and 42mm Royal Oak Offshore cases.
Custom AP dials. Dials built to specification in our workshop, using the original factory blank as a base. Options include custom colourways, dial finishes, subdial contrasts, applied markers, Arabic numerals and full diamond pavé. Custom dials are the route most buyers take when the look they want is not something Audemars Piguet makes at retail.
Arabic dial conversions. A significant portion of our Audemars Piguet dial orders are Arabic numeral conversions, primarily for Middle East clients and UK buyers with regional preference. We cover standard Arabic numerals, diamond-set Arabic numerals and mixed-script layouts on Royal Oak 41mm and Offshore 42mm cases.
Grande Tapisserie, Méga Tapisserie and Petite Tapisserie
The three tapisserie patterns are not interchangeable. Getting the right one for your reference matters both for visual coherence and for fit.
- Petite Tapisserie: the original 1972 pattern, smallest squares, used on vintage Royal Oak references and the modern Jumbo 15202.
- Grande Tapisserie: introduced in the late 1990s, squares roughly 50% larger than Petite. Fitted to the 39mm Royal Oak 15300, the 41mm Royal Oak 15400 and 15500, the 37mm Royal Oak 15450 and 15550 and the Royal Oak Chronograph families (26320, 26331, 26240).
- Méga Tapisserie: the largest pattern, squares roughly double Grande. Used on most Royal Oak Offshore 42mm and 44mm references.
Since 2012 Audemars Piguet produces Royal Oak dials in-house on guilloché rose engines recovered from workshops in Canada and the United States. Petite and Grande patterns are true guilloché. The Méga pattern on most Offshore dials is stamped rather than guilloché.
Arabic Audemars Piguet dials
Arabic numeral dials are one of our highest-volume customisation categories on the Royal Oak and Royal Oak Offshore, driven by Middle East demand and UK buyers with regional preference. The conversion uses an original AP dial blank refinished with Arabic numerals in place of the factory indices, either in standard paint, applied gold or diamond-set Arabic numerals. Subdial contrasts, date window script and hour marker format are all specifiable at brief. Middle East clients typically prefer to discuss briefs over WhatsApp; UK clients over email or in person at our London showroom.
Typical combinations we build include black Méga Tapisserie (also spelled Mega Tapisserie) with white Arabic numerals for Offshore 42mm, silver Grande Tapisserie with black Arabic for Royal Oak 41mm and diamond-paved Arabic numerals on black or white base dials. Finished conversions include fitting, calibration and 12 month warranty.
Diamond and gem-set Audemars Piguet dials
Diamond-set dial work ranges from single row markers through full pavé. Standard options include VS1 round brilliants as hour markers, fully diamond-paved base dials, mother-of-pearl subdials with diamond hour indices and baguette-cut hour markers for higher-end bespoke builds. All setting is done in-house using the same watchmakers who carry out the fitting, which avoids the risk of third-party dial work compromising fit tolerances on the case.
How the order process works
Dial pricing on product listings includes the part itself plus fitting. We dismantle the watch, fit the new dial, reassemble, test for timekeeping accuracy, water resistance where relevant and return the piece ready to wear. Turnaround on standard fits is typically five to ten working days; bespoke diamond-set work takes longer and is quoted case by case. The same workshop handles full watch servicing where a piece needs a service alongside the dial fit. UK next-day delivery is included on outbound shipping; international shipping is available via FedEx.
For anything not in the grid above, including custom colours, unusual reference fits or complete watch customisation beyond a dial swap, brief the piece through the banner below. We also stock matching Audemars Piguet bezels and straps for buyers refreshing a piece end-to-end.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Grande and Méga Tapisserie?
Grande Tapisserie is fitted to the 41mm Royal Oak and Royal Oak Chronograph. Méga Tapisserie is fitted to the Royal Oak Offshore in 42mm and 44mm. The Méga pattern squares are roughly twice the size of Grande, giving the Offshore its bolder dial look.
Can I fit a Royal Oak Offshore dial to a Royal Oak case?
No. Dial dimensions, feet positions and hand heights differ between the 41mm Royal Oak and the 42mm Royal Oak Offshore. Each dial must match its intended case and calibre. Our listings are categorised by compatible reference.
Are your Audemars Piguet dials original factory parts?
We stock both. Factory dials are original AP parts sourced through our trade network. Custom dials are built on factory base blanks, then refinished or diamond-set in our workshop. Every listing states which it is.
Can I get an Audemars Piguet dial with Arabic numerals?
Yes. We regularly build Arabic numeral Audemars Piguet dials for Royal Oak 41mm and Royal Oak Offshore 42mm cases, with or without diamond-set markers. Brief the exact base dial, numeral style and subdial contrast required.
Does fitting a custom dial affect my Audemars Piguet warranty?
Any modification to an original Audemars Piguet watch will typically void the remaining manufacturer warranty. Time 4 Diamonds provides a 12 month warranty on the dial, fitting and movement timing post-service. Buyers who intend to maintain a factory warranty should not modify the watch.
How much does an Audemars Piguet dial cost?
Factory replacement dials on the 41mm Royal Oak and 42mm Offshore typically sit in the low four figures including fitting. Custom colour and Arabic work starts from a similar level. Full diamond pavé and baguette gem-set dials scale into the mid and upper four figures depending on stone grade and quantity. Individual listings carry current pricing.
