The Patek Nautilus range was implemented into the watch brand’s catalogue in 1976, and has become one of the most iconic watch ranges. Designed as a luxury sports watch, it has evolved to become a luxury everyday and dress watch.
With some of the most sought after models in the horological world like the Nautilus 3700/1A which kick-started this magnificent range of watches, the 5711/1A which is arguably one of the most sought after models and the 5711/1A-018, known as the Patek ‘Tiffany Blue’ which is an incredible rare and in-demand piece.
Here at Time4Diamonds, we have managed to get our hands on another extremely prestigious Patek Nautilus Chrono, this one being the reference 5980/1R-001. This Patek model holds high status and is one of the most in-demand watches in the whole Patek catalogue, if not the most.
This stunning piece is polished in rose-gold, with an integrated bracelet and wearable 40.5mm case size. With the colour rose gold constantly growing in interest and favour, this is an additional reason as to what makes this watch more valuable.
The gradient black dial, which appears more as a smoky brown colour, beautifully compliments the rose gold, adding to the overall aesthetic of this piece.
As mentioned this is the Nautilus Chrono, short for chronograph, which is always an admirable feature that can be noticed through the sub dial at 6 o’clock.
This is the more recent 2021 model so it has the newer clasp fitted on to the bracelet with the butterfly style, this clasp being introduced in the same year of when this model was produced.
Many celebrities have been seen wearing this beautiful watch with huge names such as Lionel Messi, Mark Wahlberg and Sylvester Stallone, demonstrating its status in the horological world.
With this watch only just being discontinued, it has started to rise in price which is positive news for those who have this watch. Especially due to the fact that the value of this watch has seen a horrifying decline over the course of many months.
That could have been a reason as to why Patek decided to remove this watch and discontinue it, tying in with the brand’s famous quote “you never really own a Patek,” demonstrating a sense of investment.
Where we aren’t too sure how long it will take this watch to reach its value it once was, we expect the value to progressively increase. Therefore, if you are a dealer or trader who may potentially be trying to get your hands on this watch, the difficulty in getting this model will also increase due to the rise in value.
This watch is going to receive the investable trait it once had and deserves as it is an absolute stunning piece. Expect this watch to become even more in-demand than it is already!
