The 98th Academy Awards brought awards season to a close with one of the most varied and exciting watch lineups in recent memory, from a bold Rolex debut on the host's wrist to vintage grails, haute joaillerie and an unreleased Omega that has the industry talking.
Congratulations to all of the winners and nominees of this year's Oscars, including Michael B. Jordan and Jessie Buckley for winning Best Actor and Actress, respectively. But we all know what we are here for, and that is the magnificent horology on display.
What stood out this year wasn't just the value of the watches on show. It was the sheer range. Traditional dress watches shared the red carpet with diamond-encrusted haute joaillerie, recently released models, vintage pieces from the 1960s and 70s, and one watch that hasn't even been announced.
We also saw the trend of men wearing ladies' watches continue to gain serious momentum, something we first covered at the BAFTAs and the Actor Awards earlier this season. The message from Hollywood's biggest night is clear: personal taste now matters more than brand contracts.
With Rolex as the official sponsor and the Greenroom celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Oyster case, the Crown was always going to feature heavily. But Cartier, Omega, Patek Philippe, Hublot, Chopard, Blancpain, Vacheron Constantin, Audemars Piguet, Bulgari and Chanel all had memorable moments on the carpet too. So let's get into every watch we spotted at the 98th Academy Awards.
Rolex & the 98th Academy Awards
Rolex has sponsored the Oscars since 2017 through its Perpetual Arts Initiative, which supports the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the broader film community.
This year's Rolex Greenroom paid tribute to the 100th anniversary of the Rolex Oyster, the world's first waterproof wristwatch, with the space featuring the brand's signature green and gold tones alongside a display of the yellow gold Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona with a green dial. For more on the full current Rolex catalogue, including the 1908, Daytona and Land-Dweller, check out our complete breakdown.
Michael B. Jordan & Vintage Piaget 9297

Michael B. Jordan took home the most anticipated award of the night, the Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. On the red carpet of the BAFTAs and the Actor Awards, Michael B. Jordan wore two different vintage timepieces.
At the Oscars, Jordan chose to wear another vintage number, this one being the Piaget reference 9297, a rectangular dress watch from the 1970s often referred to by collectors as the Protocole. This 18ct yellow gold piece features a beautiful half-and-half dial with a sunburst champagne outer and a pavé diamond centre. Jordan has shown impeccable vintage taste throughout awards season, and pairing this Piaget with his tailored black look on the night he took home an Oscar made it one of the coolest watch choices of the evening.
Leonardo DiCaprio & Rolex 1908

Of course, Leonardo DiCaprio had to be seen rocking a Rolex. After wearing the Daytona "Le Mans" at the BAFTAs, DiCaprio kept it classy and elegant, wearing the Rolex 1908. Specifically, the Best Actor nominee wore the reference 52506 in platinum, featuring an ice blue guilloché dial. It is very rare for celebrities, even ambassadors, to wear the 1908; could DiCaprio wearing this 1908 be a marketing move by Rolex ahead of Watches and Wonders?
The 1908 is Rolex's dedicated dress watch collection, with its perfectly proportioned 39mm case and fluted bezel, making it one of the Crown's most refined offerings. DiCaprio's choice was a clear step away from the sports models we usually see on the red carpet. With Rolex marking the Oyster's centenary this year and the 1908 still relatively fresh in the catalogue, it feels like a calculated moment.
Conan O'Brien & Rolex Land-Dweller

The biggest talking point of the night, before any awards were handed out, was the watch on the host's wrist. Conan O'Brien is famously loyal to his Omega Seamaster "No Time To Die", so when he appeared on stage wearing the brand-new Rolex Land-Dweller, the watch community took notice. Of course, the Oscars are a Rolex-sponsored event, and Conan understood the assignment.
The Land-Dweller is one of Rolex's newest collections, introduced in 2025, featuring an angular case, an integrated bracelet and a distinctive honeycomb motif dial. Seeing it paired with a tuxedo on the biggest red carpet of the year was the best advertisement Rolex could have asked for, and it wouldn't be surprising if this is a sign of things to come at Watches and Wonders 2026.
Zendaya & Rolex Lady-Datejust

From one Rolex ambassador to another, Zendaya was spotted wearing the fully diamond-set Lady-Datejust reference 279459RBR, which retails for around £148,000! This is a truly magnificent piece, cast in 18ct white gold, worn with the elegant Presidential bracelet and set with the finest diamonds. Zendaya made a surprise appearance on stage alongside her The Drama co-star Robert Pattinson, and the sparkling Lady-Datejust was the perfect complement to the occasion.
If you want a mesmerising timepiece like Zendaya's without the jaw-dropping price tag, at Time 4 Diamonds we can create a custom-inspired version for a fraction of the cost, using natural, high-quality stones.
Timothée Chalamet & Urban Jürgensen UJ-2

Best Actor nominee Timothée Chalamet has remained consistent throughout awards season on the red carpet, rocking the UJ-2 from Urban Jürgensen. Chalamet wore the same configuration at the Oscars as he did at the BAFTAs and the Actor Awards, pairing his platinum UJ-2 with a white leather strap.
The UJ-2 won the GPHG Men's Watch Prize in 2025, and Chalamet's loyalty to this piece across three major red carpets has done more for the Danish-Swiss independent brand's visibility than any advertising campaign could. At roughly £105,000, this is a true "if you know, you know" watch, and Chalamet clearly knows.
Kevin O'Leary & Cartier Crash Skeleton & Rolex Daytona

Kevin O'Leary loves his tradition of wearing two watches, so it isn't a surprise to see him doing so at the Oscars. Also in line with his love of the colour red, O'Leary wore a platinum Cartier Crash Skeleton with dark red bridges and an off-catalogue Rolex Daytona reference 126599TRU. Both are incredibly rare watches and examples of haute horlogerie!
We've covered Mr Wonderful's watch collection on Time 4 Diamonds blog.
O'Leary's off-catalogue Daytona 126599TRU is not available to the public, but at Time 4 Diamonds, we stock a custom Daytona "Rainbow" that captures a similar spirit of haute horlogerie with precious gemstones.

Corey Gamble & Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime

Speaking of incredibly rare watches, Corey Gamble wore one of Patek Philippe's most complicated timepieces, the Grandmaster Chime Haute Joaillerie reference 6300/401G-001.
In terms of complications, this Grandmaster Chime features a Grande and Petite Sonnerie, a minute repeater, a patented alarm system with a time strike, a patented date repeater, an instantaneous perpetual calendar and a second time zone display with a day and night indicator.
This watch is double-sided and reversible, with one face showing the time and the second face showing the calendar, made possible due to Patek Philippe's patented case mechanism.
But that's not all! There are gem settings incorporated into this timepiece. On the front side and the clasp, altogether, there are 118 baguette-cut blue sapphires; on the back, along with the lugs, are 291 baguette-cut diamonds.
Josh Groban & Patek Philippe Nautilus Annual Calendar

Josh Groban paired his classic black-tie look with one of the most recognisable sports watches in the world: the Patek Philippe Nautilus Annual Calendar reference 5726/1A-014.
The Nautilus remains one of the hottest collector's pieces on the market, and the Annual Calendar complication adds date, day, month and moon phase displays to Gérald Genta's legendary octagonal design. It looked right at home with a tuxedo, proving once again that the Nautilus works with absolutely anything.
Robert Downey Jr. & Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Complete Calendar

Robert Downey Jr. wore a unique number from Blancpain at last night's ceremony, the Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Complete Calendar, reference 5054-0153-01S. In true RDJ fashion, the watch was part of a fully monochromatic green look: green suit, green Tiffany & Co. jewellery and a green-dialled Blancpain to tie it all together. This is a luxury dive model that combines Blancpain's legendary underwater heritage with the high complication of a complete calendar and a moon phase display.
It was arguably the most coherent overall look of the night, with the watch not treated as an afterthought but as an integral part of the outfit. Downey Jr. later appeared on stage alongside his Marvel co-star Chris Evans to present the screenplay awards.
We've covered Robert Downey Jr's. watch collection on Time 4 Diamonds blog.
Kumail Nanjiani & Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar

Comedian and actor Kumail Nanjiani wore an extremely sought-after timepiece from Vacheron Constantin, the Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin Skeleton in 18ct pink gold. This Overseas model perfectly combines high complexity and a sporty aesthetic, even featuring a fully skeletonised movement. Nanjiani previously wore an Overseas Perpetual Calendar in white gold with a red dial at the Golden Globes earlier this season, so it's clear he has a genuine affinity for the collection.
Matt Friend & Rolex Daytona

Comedian and actor Matt Friend wore a yellow gold Rolex Daytona reference 126518LN, a piece that debuted in 2025 and stands out for its combination of a yellow gold case with a turquoise lacquer dial. That dial colour calls back to the highly collectable vintage "Stella" dials, and it looked fantastic on the red carpet. It's the kind of modern Daytona that turns heads, and Friend wore it well.
Felix Kammerer & Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Perpetual Calendar

Austrian actor Felix Kammerer chose a seriously refined piece for the red carpet: the Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle with perpetual calendar and precision moon phase. This is one of the world's oldest watchmaker's most elegant complications, and it added depth and sophistication to Kammerer's chocolate-toned suiting. It was an interesting contrast with Nanjiani's sporty Overseas, showing the breadth of Vacheron's range on a single red carpet.
Arón Piper & Audemars Piguet Royal Oak

Actor, singer and songwriter Arón Piper rocked the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Frosted yellow gold reference 77450BA. The frosted gold Royal Oaks produced by AP are one of the most elegant forms of craftsmanship seen in watchmaking. This 34mm timepiece features a stunning dial with a "Crystal Sand" finish in a golden hue to match the frosted yellow gold.
Cole Walliser & Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar

Cole Walliser, the creator of the GlamBOT camera system seen at every major red carpet for years, is a well-known member of the watch community. At the Oscars, he wore an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar in a white ceramic case. This reference retailed for roughly £75,000 at launch but now trades for closer to £240,000 on the secondary market, making it one of the more valuable AP pieces seen on the carpet.

Hudson Williams & Bulgari Serpenti Tubogas

The Heated Rivalry star turned heads by wearing one of Bulgari's most instantly recognisable designs: the Serpenti Tubogas with a steel case and diamond-set bezel. The snake-shaped coiled bracelet is one of the most iconic silhouettes in watchmaking, traditionally positioned as a women's piece.
Williams pairing it with his Balenciaga look was one of the boldest watch moves of the night, and industry insiders have been noting for some time that Bulgari would eventually place the Serpenti on a high-profile male celebrity. This was that moment.
Pedro Pascal & Chanel BOY-FRIEND Watch

Pedro Pascal wore the Chanel BOY-FRIEND large watch, which is crafted in beige gold and worn comfortably with a quilted-pattern calfskin strap. Despite being the large version, it measures 37 x 28.6 x 7.7mm, which isn't exactly large; however, it is very subtle, classy and elegant.
Pascal matched the watch with a floral lapel pin from Chanel's runway collection, treating the watch and brooch as a coordinated set. The BOY-FRIEND houses a mechanical hand-wound movement with a 42-hour power reserve, which gives the model more horological substance than many people realise.
Paul Mescal & Cartier Tank Louis Cartier Mini

Paul Mescal, who appeared as a presenter and whose film Hamnet was nominated for Best Picture, wore a Cartier Tank Louis Cartier Mini in yellow gold reference CRWGTA0352. This is one of the smallest Cartier watches currently available, and Mescal wore it with the same understated confidence he has shown at previous awards shows with neo-vintage Cartier pieces. It could easily go unnoticed at first glance, which is precisely what makes the choice so compelling from someone who clearly understands horology.
Antonio Banderas & Bvlgari Octo Finissimo

Spanish actor Antonio Banderas kept it sporty with the Bvlgari Octo Finissimo, crafted almost entirely out of titanium. The Octo Finissimo is celebrated for its record-breaking engineering and design, with an extremely thin case just 5.15mm thick, housing the 2.23mm-thick BVL 138 movement. Titanium allows the model to be very lightweight, weighing approximately 60g, making it extremely durable and comfortable for daily wear.
Ryan Coogler & Cartier Tank à Guichet

Ryan Coogler received the Oscar for Writing (Original Screenplay) last night for the movie Sinners. Coogler wore the Cartier Tank à Guichet reference WGTA0236, which was part of a set of releases from last year, inspired by vintage examples from the 1920s. This particular example, worn by Coogler, is the platinum reference with a red alligator leather strap.
The word "Guichet" is French for the type of ticket window you would find at a cinema box office, which feels particularly fitting for the screenwriter behind one of the year's biggest hits.
Shaboozey & Chopard L'Heure du Diamant

Music artist Shaboozey rocked quite a luxurious number from Chopard at the Oscars ceremony, the L'Heure du Diamant Oval Small. This model is crafted out of 18ct white gold, with a mother-of-pearl dial and diamond-set hour markers, adorned by a diamond-set bezel. At the Grammys 2025, Shaboozey wore a fully iced-out Jacob & Co. Slender Ashoka, so it is great to see a different side to his taste in horology.
Chris Evans & Chopard L.U.C XPS

Chris Evans arrived in a classic, understated look complemented by the Chopard L.U.C XPS in 18ct rose gold. The L.U.C line sits at the top of Chopard's watchmaking output, and the XPS is one of the thinnest models in the collection. It's the kind of dress watch that serious collectors appreciate, and it paired perfectly with Evans's Giorgio Armani tuxedo. Given that Evans appeared on stage alongside Robert Downey Jr. for the screenplay presentations, there was plenty of camera time on this one.
Kieran Culkin, Miles Caton & Joe Alwyn: Hublot's Red Carpet Takeover

Hublot had a strong showing at the Oscars this year. Kieran Culkin, who won Best Supporting Actor in 2025 and returned to present this year, wore the Classic Fusion Chronograph in King Gold 42mm. The warm-toned gold case worked brilliantly with his bronzed blazer.
Miles Caton, who wore two different Louis Vuitton Tambours at the BAFTAs and the Actor Awards, topped himself at the Oscars with a Hublot Classic Fusion Chronograph in King Gold and Titanium.
Joe Alwyn, part of the Hamnet ensemble, wore the Classic Fusion Essential Grey 42mm, a monochromatic piece that paired well with his Valentino outfit. Three Hublots in one night is quite the statement from a brand that continues to gain ground on the red carpet.
Nicole Kidman & Omega Vintage Saphette

Nicole Kidman wore her personal vintage Omega Ladymatic "Saphette" from circa 1966, crafted in 14ct white gold with a silver sunburst dial and diamond-set wings at the top and bottom of the case. The name "Saphette" refers to the faceted sapphire crystal that is designed to resemble a diamond solitaire. This is a premium vintage timepiece produced by Omega during the 1960s, with the cocktail-style design very relevant to the time period.
Kidman has been spotted wearing this same piece at multiple awards shows over the years, which makes it one of the most genuine watch choices on any red carpet. She isn't borrowing it from a brand for the night. This is her watch, and that personal connection makes it the strongest statement of the evening, not because of its value but because of what it represents.
Amy Madigan & Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra

Best Supporting Actress winner Amy Madigan wore the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra in 30mm, a two-tone model in steel and 18ct Moonshine Gold with a diamond-set bezel, reference 220.25.30.20.55.001.
The Aqua Terra is Omega's most elegant sports watch interpretation, water-resistant to 150 metres and powered by the Co-Axial Calibre 8800. It struck the right balance between jewellery and substance, and it looked even better when she held that Oscar statue.
Delroy Lindo & An Unreleased Omega

The most intriguing watch of the entire evening was on the wrist of Best Supporting Actor nominee Delroy Lindo: an unreleased Omega timepiece. Omega confirmed in their press materials that the watch has not been released yet, and eagle-eyed enthusiasts have been piecing together clues from red carpet photos ever since.
The case appears to be in Moonshine Gold, on a tapered fine mesh gold bracelet, with what looks like a raised "pie-pan" dial and applied star logo above 6 o'clock.
Those features point strongly towards a modern revival of the Constellation, with the closest historical match being the Constellation Calendar Grand Luxe from 1962. Combined with "dog-leg" lugs that Omega brought back on last year's Milano-Cortina Seamaster, this could be the most significant Omega dress watch launch in years. We'll be watching closely for an official announcement.
Omega has used celebrity soft-launches before, placing unreleased pieces on Daniel Craig and Colman Domingo before wider reveals, and it looks like Delroy Lindo is the latest to carry that torch.
Wagner Moura & Omega De Ville Prestige

Brazilian actor Wagner Moura, nominated for Best Actor for his performance in The Secret Agent, chose the Omega De Ville Prestige in 41mm stainless steel with a black leather strap.
Moura is the first Brazilian male actor to be nominated in a leading acting category, making his Oscars appearance historic. The De Ville Prestige doesn't get the attention that the Speedmaster or Seamaster enjoys, but it's a quiet classic that showed real taste from a first-time nominee.
Chase Stokes & Omega Speedmaster 38

Outer Banks star Chase Stokes wore a 38mm Omega Speedmaster in 18ct Sedna Gold with a diamond-set bezel on a brown leather strap. This is another example of a male celebrity choosing a watch that blurs traditional gendered lines, as the 38mm Speedmaster sits in a size range often associated with women's watches. Stokes wore it with complete confidence, and the warm Sedna Gold added a touch of luxury to his look.
The Trend: Men Wearing Ladies' Watches
One of the defining stories of awards season 2026, which we covered at both the BAFTAs and the Actor Awards, is the growing trend of men wearing traditional ladies' watches on the red carpet.
At the Oscars, this went further than ever: Hudson Williams wore a Bulgari Serpenti, Pedro Pascal went with the Chanel BOY-FRIEND, Paul Mescal opted for a Cartier Tank Louis Mini, and Usher chose a Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous Classic Night & Day in rose gold, a piece traditionally positioned in the brand's women's collection.
None of these models is a man's watch by catalogue definition, yet each one looked completely natural on the wearer's wrist. It signals a genuine shift in how the industry thinks about gendered sizing and design, and the Oscars red carpet is leading the conversation.
More Watches Spotted at the 2026 Oscars
Beyond the headline timepieces, there were several more notable watches on the red carpet. Adam Pearson made a style statement with a Montblanc Star Legacy featuring a moonphase display. And Sterling K. Brown represented Blancpain alongside Robert Downey Jr., wearing the Villeret Quantième Complet, one of the maison's more traditional dress pieces.
Although awards season is coming to a close, stay on the lookout for our watch collection guides and any other events that are to take place in the coming months. Especially with the huge sporting events scheduled this year, including the all-important Wimbledon and the highly anticipated FIFA World Cup. If any of the watches from this year's Oscars have caught your eye, whether it's a factory piece or a custom creation inspired by what you've seen on the red carpet, our team is always happy to help.
