In order to simplify and help your search into the Rolex current catalogue, we have curated every model that is currently on offer at Rolex's AD with a detailed description of what features for each Rolex watch.

Post Contents:

In 2025, Rolex really shocked the horological world with the introduction of a new model in the Land-Dweller, a new Oyster Perpetual generation and some captivating dials for different models. As we enter the half-way point since Watches and Wonders 2025, we thought it would be fantastic to create an easier display of every watch that is part of Rolex’s current catalogue.

    1908

Yellow gold 1908 on the wrist.

As this list is in alphabetical order, we start with the Rolex 1908 which is one of Rolex's newest collections replacing the Cellini in 2023. The name pays homage to the year Hans Wilsdorf had Rolex registered in Switzerland, three years after it was established in London.

The 1908 is a beautiful dress watch, only offered in Rolex’s precious materials such as platinum, 18CT yellow gold and 18CT white gold. There is a thin and polished 39mm case size with a divided bezel which is partially domed and fluted. Rolex opted for a clean minimalistic dial design featuring Arabic numerals at 12, 3 and 9 o’clock with a small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock.

Powering the 1908 is the in-house Calibre 7140 which is a self-winding mechanical movement known for its high levels of accuracy and precision. Moreover, the beautiful movement is seen through an opened caseback which is always a nice touch for wearers to see the beating heart of their watch.

Before Watches and Wonders 2025, the 1908 was only worn comfortably with an alligator leather strap. This year, there was a slight addition for the 1908 with a brand new and exclusive Settimo bracelet crafted with seven-piece solid links. However, the Settimo is only applicable to reference 52508 and the question relies on whether it will become available for other 1908 references or even other models.

    Air-King

    Air-King flat on a magazine.

On to one of Rolex’s oldest models, the Air-King. During the early 1900s, many watches were created for pilots for their dedication during the golden age of aviation. The Air-King is one of them with the model name being rather fitting for a pilot to wear and use. More specifically, the Air-King was first introduced in 1945 with the reference 4925, paying tribute to the RAF (Royal Air Force) pilots who fought in World War II.

During its earlier production years, the model was very simplistic but in recent years, the model was revived and underwent some significant changes. In 2016, Rolex released the 116900 in a larger 40mm case size with a bold black dial inspired by the Bloodhound car project Rolex were part of.

Currently, the only Air-King in Rolex’s catalogue is the reference 126900 which replaced the 116900 in 2022. This fresh reference is crafted in Rolex’s patented Oystersteel with the Oyster bracelet, powered by the Calibre 3230 which will become a frequent mention throughout this article.

On the black dial, there are enlarged Arabic numerals for 3,6 and 9 o’clock as well as smaller yet still big numbers showcasing the minutes, missing out “00,” “15,” “30” and “45.” This is intended for enhanced readability, especially for pilots who needed a quick glance at their watch during flying. For those who aim to build a relationship with Rolex’s AD (Authorised Dealership) then The Air-King is a solid entry level Rolex watch to kickstart your journey.

    Cosmograph Daytona

    Platinum Daytona on the wrist.

Arguably the most iconic and prominent Rolex watch of all time is the Cosmograph Daytona. Typically, people call it the Daytona but the actual name features the word Cosmograph - a term that refers to two different meanings of an alternative term for chronograph and meaning the measurement of the universe in Greek.

The Daytona name stems from the racing competition, but it never featured on the dial with the initial Cosmograph reference 6239 released in 1963. The Daytona is a model that deserves its own article having gone through a wild journey full of twists and turns, in fact it has been documented that the Daytona was nowhere near as popular as it is today.

But, as we are solely discussing the current catalogue, we should pay attention to the most recent generation of the Daytona occurring in 2023, launching the new reference 1265xx replacing the former 1165xx (xx represents different numbers for the type of bezel and material used.)

Current Daytonas are available in almost every type of material with some beautiful dials. Powering the Daytona is the Calibre 4131 which is an enhanced version of the former Calibre 4130 featuring the Chronergy escapement, Paraflex Shock Absorbers and optimised ball bearings in order to increase efficiency and durability of the movement.

Other refinements include a thinner case, sharper hour markers, sleek lugs and for the models with a ceramic bezel, there is a black insert between the bezel and the 40mm case. Most importantly, the Daytona is one of the hardest models to access at retail with the model only being offered to one with a strong rapport with the AD.

    Datejust

A Rolex Datejust "Wimbledon" placed down flat on top of a green Rolex box.

The Rolex Datejust is also one of the most popular and in-demand Rolex watches. In 2025, there are three Rolex Datejust models: the Datejust 41, Datejust 36 and Datejust 31. Part of each Datejust are various materials and dial designs with the option of different bezels and bracelets.

    Datejust 41

The current generation of the Datejust 41 1263xx is crafted in Oystersteel, Everose Roselor (steel and rose gold), yellow Rolesor (steel and yellow gold) and white Rolesor (steel and white gold.) For the bezel, you can opt for the smooth, fluted or diamond bezel and for the bracelet, the Oyster or Jubilee is available.

Dial choices are extremely varied with some memorable names being the “Wimbledon” dial or the Azzurro blue dial yet some dials like the Chocolate are only available for certain materials. Powering the Datejust 41 is the Calibre 3235 which, like the Calibre 3230, will be a familiar movement to appear further below in this article.

    Datejust 36

The middle sized Datejust comes in a 36mm case, crafted in the same materials as the Datejust 41. In fact, configurations are extremely similar to the Datejust 41 with the same dials, bezels and bracelets available for the model.

Even the reference number is nearly identical to the Datejust 41 with the reference number 1262xx. Again, inside the Datejust 36’s case is the Calibre 3235, there is nothing too different about the Datejust 36 when compared to the Datejust 41 other than the case size.

    Datejust 31

Now it gets ever so slightly different with the Datejust 31. Firstly, whilst the Datejust 31 is still crafted in the same materials as the 41 and 36, it is also available in full 18CT yellow gold.

The bezel options are the same and the dials on display are pretty similar (closer to the Datejust 36 like the Mother of Pearl dial) but the Presidential bracelet is offered with the Datejust 31, not just the Oyster and Jubilee. Also, due to a smaller case size, the movement is different featuring the Calibre 2236 which is not exclusive to the Datejust 31 as it is the beating heart to other Rolex watches.

    Day-Date

Day-date "Anniversary" on a marble table.

The Day-Date, also referred to as the “Presidential,” is one of Rolex’s most iconic timepieces worn by those of high status. The nickname doesn’t just come from the President bracelet but also because of the historical significance this watch has with US Presidents being worn by many leaders such as Donald Trump and Lyndon B. Johnson.

Currently, the Rolex Day-Date is offered in a 36 and 40mm case size, references 1282xx and 2282xx respectively. Both Day-Date models are only crafted in Rolex’s precious metals of platinum, Everose gold, yellow gold and white gold.

With each precious metal model is a select number of dials that are exclusive to certain pieces. For example, the chocolate brown dial is part of the Everose gold reference 228235 but not the platinum reference 228236.

Yes, the President bracelet is a feature for the Datejust 31 and Lady-Datejust, however it is synonymous to the Day-Date being the only bracelet option for the Rolex model. As well as the fluted bezel, there is a diamond-set bezel option to make the Day-Date even more classy.

Powering the Day-Date is the Calibre 3255 which features the patented Chronergy escapement and an optimised blue Parachrom hairspring which is up to ten times more precise in comparison to a standard hairspring.

    Deepsea

    Yellow gold Deepsea.

Inspired by the Rolex Deepsea Challenge that accompanied James Cameron’s solo expedition of the Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench, Rolex launched the Deepsea reference 126660 in 2012. A decade later, Rolex released the reference 136660 which is the most updated version of the Deepsea.

There are only two models part of the Deepsea collection: the 136660 in stainless steel as highlighted already and the reference 136668LB in 18CT yellow gold which was presented at Watches and Wonders 2024. The Deepsea is one of the most controversial releases from Rolex due to the model’s huge 44mm case size being almost unwearable.

    • Cerachrom bezel insert in blue ceramic

Part of the stainless steel Deepsea is a black ceramic bezel, Oyster bracelet and Calibre 3235 but there are two different dials of an intense black and the D-blue dial. The yellow gold Deepsea has one configuration with a blue ceramic bezel and matching blue dial.

The bezel is rotatable unidirectionally with 60-minute graduations that allows divers to time their dive. You rotate the bezel counter-clockwise to where the triangular point at zero is level with the minute hand. During your dive, the minute hand will move clockwise pointing to a different part of the 60-minute scale that tells you how much time has passed.

What makes the case large and thick is the functions. The Deepsea can withstand extreme water pressure to a depth of 3,900m equivalent to 12,800ft made possible thanks to the Helium Escape Valve and Ringlock System. The Helium Escape Valve allows helium atoms to be released preventing damage to the watch and the Ringlock System gives the Oyster case increased resistance to water pressure achieving such high levels of waterproofness.

    Deepsea Challenge

Deepsea Challenge at the bottom of the ocean.

When the Deepsea reference 136660 was released in 2022, Rolex also introduced the Deepsea Challenge reference 126067 which is the closest edition of the actual Deepsea Challenge James Cameron wore on his deep dive to the Mariana Trench.

The experimental watch Cameron wore was crafted out of Oystersteel which is Rolex’s patented 904L stainless steel. This reference 126067 uses RLX titanium which is a much lighter and durable material, in fact it makes this watch 30% lighter than Cameron’s experimental Deepsea.

Yes, this is technically just a Deepsea but what makes this Deepsea Challenge different is the humongous 50mm case size! This was done by Rolex to achieve much higher levels of waterproofness of up to 11,000m equal to 36,909ft which is truly incredible. Despite the high levels of craftsmanship and strong success behind this watch, it is completely unwearable.

    Explorer

    Explorer 40 on the wrist.

Historically, the Explorer is extremely significant as it was one of the first ever Rolex models to be produced. This was one of the earliest demonstrations of Rolex’s exemplary marketing and sponsorship tactics as there is a slight myth that the Explorer was worn during the summit of Mount Everest in 1953 but actually Rolex used the historical event to launch the Explorer.

    Explorer 36

Throughout the Explorer’s lifetime, it has always consisted of a 36mm case size but in 2010, Rolex scrapped that and brought out a 39mm version. This lasted a decade in production, then making a return back to the Explorer’s origins in 2021 with a 36mm case size. This remains part of the Rolex catalogue, the reference number being the 124270 which is crafted in Oystersteel and yellow Rolesor with only a black dial to configure with. On the black dial are enlarged Arabic numerals at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock and the watch is worn comfortably with the Oyster bracelet.

    Explorer 40

In 2023, Rolex released the first ever Explorer with a 40mm case size and is produced in Oystersteel only with the reference number 224270 which also features a black dial with enlarged Arabic numerals at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock and the Oyster bracelet. Both models are powered by the Calibre 3230 which is the second Rolex model so far to incorporate this movement.

    Explorer II

    Explorer II on the wrist.

Following up from the Explorer is the Explorer II. What is also quite a historical model, the current Explorer II is the reference 226570 which was released in 2021 to celebrate 50 years of the model’s introduction in 1971.

In comparison to the Explorer, the Explorer II is much larger, featuring a 42mm case size with two additional functions telling the date and a second time zone. The second time zone is achieved through the Calibre 3285, the orange GMT hand and the 24-hour bezel.

The Explorer II reference 226570 is only produced in Oystersteel and is only paired with the Oyster bracelet. There are two dials for the Explorer II: a Polar white dial and a black dial. Although it is quite a simple Rolex model, it is a perfect wristwatch for exploration due to the model’s robust and durable metal, Chromalight display, dual time function and date display.

    GMT-Master II

The Rolex GMT-Master 2 placed on top of a page from a watch magazine's page.

The GMT-Master II is one of the most sought after Rolex watches right now and is one of the best GMT watches you can find in the horological world. The GMT-Master II evolved from the GMT-Master and whilst they were both very similar, the third 24-hour hand can move freely on the GMT-Master II.

The GMT-Master II has gone through many changes since its inception in 1982 but the current generation of the model features some of the coolest and in-demand pieces. Part of the reference numbers are letters like BLRO or VTNR which are used to describe the colours of the bezel which inspire some nicknames.

Some examples include the “Pepsi” reference 126710BLRO which has a blue-red bezel, the “Bruce Wayne” reference 126710GRNR with grey-black bezel and the “Rootbeer” reference 126711CHNR which features a brown-black bezel. Ultimately, because of Rolex’s colourful rotatable Cerachrom bezels, enthusiasts create some interesting yet fitting nicknames from enthusiasts.

Powering every GMT-Master II is the Calibre 3285 which also runs the Explorer II. The majority of GMT-Master watches are worn with either the Oyster bracelet or Jubilee bracelet with there being some exceptions depicted in the images above. In terms of dials, many include a black dial but there are some interesting dials like the meteorite exclusive to the white gold “Pepsi” and the newly released Tiger Iron dial for the Everose gold and yellow gold pieces. Like the Daytona, the GMT-Master II deserves its own article due to the history of the model with some notable pieces during its lifetime.

    Lady-Datejust

    Lady-Datejust Everose Rolesor.

Yes, we have explored the current Datejust models and yes, we could have technically included the Lady-Datejust under the Datejust but it is actually its own model. The Lady Datejust is the best Rolex watch for ladies, undoubtedly.

For the Lady-Datejust, the configurations are very similar to the Datejust 31 with the same type of materials offered, same bracelets and bezels available, powered by the same Calibre 2236 but there are more exclusive dials. The only difference is the case size being 28mm which is very small for modern watches. Fun fact, in the catalogue, the Lady-Datejust reference 279459RBR is the most expensive Rolex watch retailing for £138,900!

    Land-Dweller

    Three examples of the Land-Dweller.

At Watches and Wonders 2025, Rolex sent shockwaves through the horological world with the brand new Land-Dweller. Without the leaks surfacing a week or two before Watches and Wonders took place, no one would have had Rolex to release a new model on their horological bingo card. But there were no complaints as the Crown smashed it with this Land-Dweller which features in a 40mm and 36mm case sizes.

Available in various materials such as white Rolesor, Everose gold and platinum, the Land-Dweller does cater to different needs due to its sheer versatility. Additionally, there is an option of a diamond-set bezel if you aim to give your wrist some shine and bling. Here, Rolex has created a new bracelet called the Flat Jubilee which is an integrated bracelet, incorporating the iconic five link formation with a sportier aesthetic.

Despite the integrated bracelet being antonymous to Rolex, this is not the first of an integrated bracelet for Rolex, first featuring on quartz models and Datejusts in the 1970s. Actually, the bracelet was most remembered specifically on the Oysterquartz in 1977 which ended in production in 2001 with the last batch of models sold in 2003. The Land-Dweller may have sparked some interest in vintage Oysterquartz models with it featuring in our list of 5 Most Affordable Rolex Watches to Collect in 2025.

Looking into closer details of the Land-Dweller, this model has an updated movement with Rolex’s new calibre 7135 which is the brand’s first mechanical high frequency calibre. Simply, this means the Land-Dweller is Rolex’s most accurate model in telling time enhanced further with their new and innovative Dynapulse Escapement which carries out power and transmits energy to the oscillator, making the Land-Dweller more accurate, powerful and durable.

    Oyster Perpetual

Oyster Perpetual with the green dial.

The Oyster Perpetual is Rolex's identity encompassed into one watch. The name “Oyster” is a direct link to the case that hit headlines in 1926 where Rolex unveiled the revolutionary waterproof Oyster case and “Perpetual” derives from the self-winding movement Rolex patented in 1931.

Today, this is Rolex’s most simplistic and accessible model due to its time-only movement and display with no enlarged numerals like on the Air-King and Explorer, just conventional hour markers. This makes the dial clean and tidy allowing the Oyster Perpetual to be very versatile; to be worn for formal events or casually.

Currently, there are five different case sizes for the Oyster Perpetual: 41mm, 36mm, 34mm, 31mm and 28mm. All models feature the smooth domed bezel and Oyster bracelet. For each case size, there are specific dials that Rolex has tailored to suit and there are different movements depending on the case sizes of the Oyster Perpetual.

For the 41mm and 36mm Oyster Perpetuals, the Calibre 3230 is featured but for the 34mm, 31mm and 28mm, the Calibre 2232 is used. There is not too much difference between the two Calibres other than their power reserves as the Calibre 3230 provides approximately 70 hours whereas the Calibre 2232 offers up to 55 hours.

    Sea-Dweller

    Sea-Dweller yellow Rolesor.

Rolex demonstrates fine craftsmanship in diving watches again with the Sea-Dweller. Although not as strong as the Deepsea or the Deepsea Challenge, the Sea-Dweller paved the way for Rolex to take dive watches to a new extreme. There are only two references to the Sea-Dweller: the stainless steel reference 126600 and the yellow Rolesor reference 126603.

In 2017, Rolex released the steel Sea-dweller to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the model with the yellow Rolesor piece adding to the catalogue two years later. Both configurations of the Sea-Dweller are equipped with the Calibre 3235, black Cerachrom bezel and black dial. A key feature on the stainless steel model though is the red “Sea-Dweller” text on the black dial which pays homage to vintage Sea-Dweller pieces.

The main feature for both Sea-Dweller models is of course the Helium Escape Valve which is also part of the Deepsea. However, what is different to the Deepsea is the case size of 43mm and no Ringlock System so therefore, the Sea-Dweller is less water resistant yet still withstands water pressure of up to 1,220m equal to 4,000ft which is still very impressive.

    Sky-Dweller

Yellow gold Sky-Dweller next to a book.

In 2012, the Crown unveiled the Sky-Dweller at Baselworld which is currently the most complicated Rolex wristwatch. It features an annual calendar, specifically the Saros annual calendar, that only requires adjustment once a year on the 1st of March. Through the Sky-dweller, you are able to read the time, date of the month, month of the year and a second time zone.

In 2023, the Crown created an updated Calibre 9002 for the Sky-Dweller sparking a new generation of the 3369xx reference, exclusive to the model housed inside the 42mm case. All Sky-Dwellers are fitted with the fluted bezel which is involved in setting the annual calendar of the watch which is very innovative from Rolex.

The current Sky-Dweller models are offered in a range of Rolex’s materials such as Oystersteel, all Rolesor metals and all 18CT golds. In 2024, Rolex added the Jubilee bracelet for the Sky-Dweller meaning the majority of models are available with the Oyster and Jubilee bracelet but the white gold model is only paired with the Oysterflex.

    Submariner

    Submariner "Non-Date."

As we are staying true to our technicalities, the Submariner and Submariner Date are two completely separate models in the catalogue. For the Submariner, you might hear the nickname “Non-Date” thrown around which refers to the reference 124060 due to the model’s time-only function which lacks the date display.

There is only one reference under the Submariner “Non-Date” which is the 124060 which is powered by the Calibre 3230, housed in a 41mm case size. The model is only offered with a black ceramic bezel which is unidirectional in rotation meaning it can only move in one direction, as highlighted with the Deepsea, and the model includes a plain black dial to match.

This is a simpler dive watch from Rolex, withstanding a water resistance of up to 300m which is 1,000ft. This is not comparable to the Sea-Dweller or Deepsea of course but what this Submariner “Non-Date” gives the user is everyday wearability. The Submariner is one of Rolex’s most iconic models and the most faked watch in the world so watch out for super-clones.

    Submariner Date

Submariner Date with the green bezel and nickname "Starbucks."

The Submariner “Non-Date” and Submariner Date are very similar in function sharing the same water resistance values. However, the main differences are the movement and the configurations.

For the Submariner Date, Rolex incorporated the Calibre 3235 in 2020 which includes the date function. This is the most updated generation of the Submariner Date with the reference 1266xx which is offered in three different materials such as Oystersteel, yellow Rolesor and 18CT yellow gold.

Also, there are different coloured ceramic bezels like black, green and blue which are exclusive to certain models. This is signified by letters at the end of the model’s references numbers like LN (Lunette Noir/Black Bezel), LV (Lunette Verte/Green Bezel) and LB (Lunette Bleu/Blue Bezel) Due to this, there are many nicknames given to some models by enthusiasts like the “Starbucks” reference 126610LV and the “Bluesy” reference 126613LB.

    Yacht-Master

Yacht-Master in yellow gold and worn on the wrist with the Oysterflex.

Finally, we end with the versatile Yacht-Master which is a watch designed for sailors, but for those who sail in style. The Yacht-Master is offered in 37mm, 40mm and 42mm case sizes cast in different precious metals: the Yacht-Master 37 and 40 is produced in platinum Rolesor, Everose Rolesor and Everose gold whereas the Yacht-Master 42 is produced in 18CT white gold, 18CT yellow gold and RLX titanium.

Importantly, the Yacht-Master 42 models cast in 18CT gold only feature the Oysterflex bracelet so they are not full gold pieces. Every other Yacht-Master model is worn with the classic and sporty Oyster bracelet. There are also different dial options depending on the model’s metal with honourable mentions going to the blue dial and chocolate dial but the rhodium dial is a collector’s favourite. In addition to the dials and the dependents on lifestyles, there is a pavé diamond dial which is much more expensive.

Similar to the Submariner, Sea-Dweller and Deepsea watches, the Yacht-Master features a 60-minute graduated rotating bezel but the difference is that it is bidirectional and is used for an alternative reason of sailing between two buoys or travelling to different islands that are of close proximity depending on the wearer’s lifestyle.

With time flying by, 2026 is almost among us so many are already starting to think about what could be in store for Rolex next year. However, from our point of view, it is very early to start predicting what the Crown could unveil next year. What we can promise is that this article gets a yearly update so enthusiasts and fanatics alike can remain updated with the current Rolex catalogue.
