Erling Haaland's INSANE Watch Collection

Erling Haaland has been a Breitling ambassador since 14 October 2022, when the brand named him alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo, Chloe Kim and Trevor Lawrence part of its all-star squad. His line in the announcement was blunt: "I'm a watch freak, so I was already a big fan of the brand." That was not marketing copy.

By the time Breitling signed him, Haaland had already assembled a rotation that most collectors twice his age would struggle to build, including a discontinued steel Nautilus, a platinum Daytona and a Marvel-collaboration flying tourbillon limited to 250 pieces.

What follows is every reference the striker has been publicly photographed wearing, with specifications checked against brand documentation rather than repeated from other collection round-ups.

One honest caveat first: no footballer publishes an inventory. Collections like this are reconstructed from match-day photography, social posts and press appearances, so treat piece counts as a floor rather than a ceiling.

Erling Haaland’s Breitling Watches

As highlighted in the introduction above, Erling Haaland is an ambassador for Breitling, having signed on board with the Swiss brand in 2022. What makes his partnership with Breitling special is the limited edition pieces in his name, which he was involved in creating.

Breitling Chronomat B01 42: His Own Limited Edition

In July 2025, Breitling released the Erling Haaland Signature Chronomat, a co-designed set built around dials cut from the Muonionalusta meteorite. Haaland chose the model, the dial material, and the case metals himself. It is the first time Breitling has used meteorite in a watch.

The headline piece is the Chronomat B01 42 Erling Haaland, limited to 250 examples in an 18k red gold case with black chronograph counters set against the meteorite. It runs the Breitling Manufacture Calibre 01 with a 70-hour power reserve, visible through a sapphire caseback engraved "ONE OF 250" and "ERLING HAALAND 9". Haaland's initials sit on the central chronograph seconds hand, worn comfortably with either an 18k red gold rouleaux bracelet or a black rubber strap in the same rouleaux pattern.

Breitling Chronomat Automatic GMT 40

Haaland has been spotted wearing another limited edition piece in his name, the Chronomat Automatic GMT 40 Erling Haaland, with only 500 available worldwide. The model features a stainless steel case, a platinum bezel, a red gold GMT hand and an engraved caseback that carries "ONE OF 500", "ERLING HAALAND 9" and his Lotus goal celebration. A third version, an 18k red gold "ONE OF 5", was never offered publicly and was made for Haaland and a handful of people close to him.

The meteorite itself is the interesting part. Muonionalusta formed roughly 4.5 billion years ago and landed in what is now northern Sweden around a million years ago. It is mostly iron and nickel with traces of stishovite, and when sliced it reveals the Widmanstätten pattern, a crystalline lattice produced by extremely slow cooling in space. No two dials can be identical, which is the whole point of a signature edition for a player whose selling line is that nobody else does what he does.

Erling Haaland’s Rolex Watches

Haaland owns numerous Rolex watches, including models part of the three most iconic sporting collections in the Crown’s catalogue. He has a mix of the most beautiful gem-set Daytonas and some heavy hitters in both weight and aesthetic.

Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Ref. 116508: the Original "John Mayer"

Before the Breitling contract, Haaland's most photographed watch was the 18ct yellow gold Daytona reference 116508 with the green lacquer dial. Rolex launched the 116508 in 2016, and the green dial was, for some time, the option nobody wanted or spoke about.

That changed after musician and watch collector John Mayer talked the reference up in an interview with Hodinkee. The nickname stuck, and demand followed. When Rolex discontinued the six-digit Daytona line in 2023, this green dial configuration became one of the most chased modern references in the Daytona catalogue.

Mechanically, it is a standard 40mm Daytona: calibre 4130, 72-hour power reserve, screw-down pushers, solid gold caseback. The value sits entirely in the dial colour, its nickname, discontinuation and originality, as since its removal there is a new Daytona “John Mayer” in town under reference 126508. This features a green dial, but golden sub-dials, so it is not a complete copy of the OG version.

Rolex Daytona Ref. 116588TBR: the "Eye of the Tiger"

Here, he is seen wearing the Daytona reference 116588TBR, which was unveiled at Baselworld 2019. The bezel drops the tachymetric scale in place for 36 trapeze-cut diamonds of roughly 4.58 carats. The dial is black lacquer paved with diamonds in a swirling stripe motif, with champagne-coloured chronograph counters running through it and eight diamond hour markers alongside applied yellow gold numerals stating 15, 30 and 45 at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. It sits on a black Oysterflex strap with an Oysterlock clasp.

Worth correcting a claim that circulates about this watch: the 116588TBR was a catalogue release with Rolex press documentation, not an unlisted piece reserved for a private list. It is hard to buy because gem-set gold Daytonas always are, not because it was never offered.

Rolex Daytona Ref. 116595RBOW: the Holy Grail "Rainbow"

The Rolex Daytona “Rainbow” reference 116595RBOW is the most valuable watch in Haaland's photographed rotation. Rolex first produced a non-catalogued prototype Rainbow Daytona in 1994, reference 16599SAAEC in 18ct white gold. It wasn’t until almost 20 years later that the Crown officially unveiled the iconic 18ct yellow gold Rainbow Daytona reference 116598RBOW at Baselworld 2012.

But if you asked Rolex fanatics or enthusiasts for the Rainbow variant that comes to mind, it would be this 18ct Everose gold reference 116595RBOW, which was displayed at Baselworld 2018. The bezel carries 36 baguette-cut sapphires hand-graded into a colour gradient, and the lugs and crown guards are set with brilliant-cut diamonds. Two dial executions exist: a black lacquer dial with matching baguette-cut sapphire hour markers, and a diamond-pavéd version.

Colour-matching sapphires across a bezel is the hardest part of a build like this, which is why we invest in gem selection rather than just setting. Rolex Daytona Ref. 116506: the "Platona"

At Baselworld 2013, Rolex made a first for the Daytona's 50th anniversary in creating a platinum piece, the reference 116506. That’s right, it was the first Daytona ever crafted in platinum and, at launch, the most expensive Daytona Rolex had offered at retail. The 40mm case and Oyster bracelet are 950 platinum, the dial is the ice blue that Rolex reserves for platinum watches, and the bezel is a chestnut brown monobloc Cerachrom insert.

Rolex retired the reference in 2023 alongside the rest of the six-digit Daytona family. Its replacement, the 126506, runs calibre 4131 and introduced the first sapphire caseback in Daytona history. That combination of anniversary significance and a hard production cut-off is why the 116506 holds its position at the top of the modern Daytona hierarchy.

Rolex GMT-Master II 126715CHNR: the Everose "Root Beer"

As well as the Daytona, Haaland has been spotted wearing another one of Rolex’s sporting models, the GMT-Master II. In fact, he has two in his collection, the first being the reference 126715CHNR in solid 18ct Everose gold.

The Crown launched three new GMT-Master II models at Baselworld 2018, and the 126715CHNR was the solid gold one. The 40mm case and Oyster bracelet are 18ct Everose gold, the bezel is a brown-and-black Cerachrom insert and the black dial carries Everose gold hands and surrounds. Housed inside is the Calibre 3285, packed with a 70-hour power reserve and an independently adjustable local hour hand.

The Root Beer nickname is inherited from earlier two-tone GMT references with brown bezels, so this is the modern reading of a name emerging during the 1970s. Rolex has kept the reference in production and added a tiger's iron stone dial variant in 2025.

Rolex GMT-Master II 126719BLRO: the Meteorite "Pepsi"

The second GMT-Master II in Haaland’s collection is the 18ct white gold “Pepsi.” Rolex released the 126719BLRO in 2018 with a blue dial and added the meteorite option a year after. Haaland wears the meteorite version, which is the same material story as his Breitling: iron meteorite, sliced to expose the Widmanstätten pattern, so every dial reads differently.

Against the blur-red Cerachrom bezel, the grey crystalline dial gives the watch a colder read than the blue-dial version. Housed in the white gold case is the Calibre 3285, identical to the “Root-Beer” above. Rolex Submariner Ref. 116610LV

 

Haaland completes the big three in Rolex's sporting catalogue, with two Submariner references. Firstly, the Submariner reference 116610LV, nicknamed the "Hulk." This is the highly sought-after configuration featuring an all-green aesthetic. Rolex produced this model for 10 years, from 2010 to 2020, before transitioning to 41mm case sizes.

Rolex Submariner Ref. 116619LB

Not only does he have the full green version, but also the full blue variant in 18ct white gold. This is the reference 116619LB, known as the "Smurf", featuring a blue dial and bezel, which is heavier on the wrist than most people expect and considerably rarer in the pre-owned market.

The white gold version is the one that surprises people when they handle it. Nothing about the dial or bezel signals the metal, so the weight does all the talking. Along with the “Hulk,” the “Smurf” was retired in 2020 when Rolex moved the Submariner to a 41mm case.

Erling Haaland’s Patek Philippe Watches

Haaland has been seen wearing just two Patek Philippe watches, yet collectively they are both worth close to £200,000!

Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 5711/1A-010: the Discontinued Grail

This steel blue-dial Nautilus is the reference that turned Patek Philippe into a waiting-list phenomenon. The 5711/1A was produced for 15 years from 2006 to 2021, making it one of the longest-produced watches ever. Housed inside the steel 40mm case is the ultra-thin Calibre 324 S C, which is displayed through the sapphire-crystal case back. The simplicity of the watch, with its horizontally embossed blue dial and integrated bracelet, made this the perfect sports watch at the time.

Its discontinuation in 2021 sent shockwaves through the horological world due to how successful and in-demand the 5711/1A was. Thierry Stern retired it deliberately, stating that Patek Philippe should not become a one-model brand, protecting the brand’s long-term reputation. It is one of the few decisions in modern watchmaking where a manufacturer walked away from demand on principle, and it made the reference more desirable, not less.

Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 5712R-001

The 5712 takes the Nautilus case and fills the dial with complications: a moon phase, a power reserve indicator, a date-by-hand and small seconds, all arranged asymmetrically rather than in a conventional balanced layout. Haaland's is the 5712R-001, the 18k rose gold version with a sunburst brown dial and black gradient rim, worn on a brown alligator strap with a rose gold fold-over clasp.

Inside is Calibre 240 PS IRM C LU, a self-winding movement with a 22-carat gold micro-rotor recessed into the mainplate. That construction is why a watch with four indications stays this thin. The strap version was removed from the Patek Philippe collection in 2024, while the rose gold bracelet variant, reference 5712/1R-001, remains in the catalogue.

Erling Haaland’s Audemars Piguet Watches

If you thought owning one watch that is considered a holy grail was enough, well, you’d be wrong because Haaland has a second. Altogether, he has four AP watches, and they are insane models!

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak "Jumbo" Ref. 16202BA

Audemars Piguet launched the reference 16202 in January 2022 for the Royal Oak's 50th anniversary, replacing the long-serving 15202. The case stays at 39mm by 8.1mm with 50 metres of water resistance, but incorporates a new movement, the Calibre 7121. Developed over five years to replace the Calibre 2121 that had powered every generation of the "Jumbo" since 1972, the 7121 runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour, with a 55-hour power reserve and finally adds a quick-set date.

Haaland's is the 18k yellow gold reference 16202BA with the smoked yellow-gold-toned Petite Tapisserie dial. Anniversary-year examples carry a 22-carat gold oscillating weight engraved with the 50 years logo, matched to the case colour. Production moved to a standard rotor at the end of 2022, so the rotor is the quickest way to tell an anniversary piece from a later one.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked Ref. 15407ST

Haaland has yet another, what is considered, holy grail watch in the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked reference 15407ST. Launched in 2016, this model was an instant hit, admired for its stunning sporty design and innovative mechanics. It is commonly known as the “Skeleton” or “Skelly” for short, which demonstrates its status amongst other skeletonised watches. After its discontinuation in February 2025, demand surged even higher, which seemed impossible due to being so sought after to begin with.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Ref. 26615TI

From one AP belter to another, Haaland has been spotted wearing the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar with a full titanium case and bracelet and a salmon Grande Tapisserie dial with matching subdials. The Calibre 5134 drives the day, date, week, month, leap year, and astronomical moon and is packed with a 40-hour power reserve. There is no seconds hand: the long central hand points to the week indicator instead. The caseback is engraved "LIMITED EDITION OF 300 PIECES", though individual watches are not numbered.

The distribution is the interesting part. Half the run went to Japan, with 100 pieces reserved for retailer Yoshida and 50 spread across other Japanese retailers. Audemars Piguet then released the remaining 150 to the global market in August 2021 with almost no announcement.

Titanium is unusual on a Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar, which is normally reserved for gold or platinum, and pairing it with a salmon dial produced a combination that has aged extremely well. Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept 26620IO: The "Black Panther"

The most technically serious watch Haaland owns is the Royal Oak Concept Black Panther Flying Tourbillon, reference 26620IO.OO.D077CA.01, released in 2021 as part of Audemars Piguet’s collaboration with Marvel, limited to just 250 pieces worldwide.

The 42mm case is sandblasted titanium with titanium inserts, a black ceramic bezel and a black ceramic crown. The dial is openworked around a hand-sculpted, hand-painted white gold figure of Black Panther, set against a purple inner bezel. Housed inside is the Calibre 2965, hand-wound with a flying tourbillon and a 72-hour power reserve. It shipped with a purple rubber strap, a titanium folding clasp and a spare black strap. The launch price was CHF 150,000.

What Haaland's Collection Actually Tells You

Three things stand out once you line the references up.

First, he bought discontinued models before it was obvious: the Nautilus 5711/1A-010, the Daytona 116508 green dial, the Daytona 116506 platinum and both Submariner references were all acquired around the point production stopped. That is either good advice or good instinct, and either way, it is a different pattern from that of footballers who buy whatever is loudest that season.

Second, the collection is metal-heavy rather than diamond-heavy. Outside the “Eye of the Tiger” and the “Rainbow”, most of what he wears is unset gold, platinum or titanium. Compare that with the Cristiano Ronaldo collection and the difference in approach is immediately apparent.

Third, the Breitling deal changed what he wears in public but not what he owns. Since October 2022, he has been contractually visible in Chronomats, which is why sightings of the Patek and Audemars Piguet pieces have thinned out rather than stopped. That pattern is common across sponsored athletes and worth remembering when you read a collection article: absence from recent photographs is not evidence of a sale.
