    Patek Philippe Aquanaut Chronograph 5968/1A

This Patek Philippe model worn by Dembélé featured in an earlier blog of ours where we explored the watches worn by players from PSG and Inter Milan ahead of the Champions League final in May. Ousmane Dembélé has been caught wearing the Patek Philippe Aquanaut reference 5968A-001.

This versatile piece combines horological craft and a sporty aesthetic in which Dembélé wears comfortably with a vibrant orange strap that separates the Aquanaut from the Frenchman’s wrist. An incredibly recognisable watch due to the model’s orange apparel and is currently trading on the secondary market for around £100,000 which is over double the retail price! In USD, this is roughly $133,000.

    Rolex Daytona 116576TBR

Ousmane Dembélé presenting the UCL trophy at the French Open wearing the Rolex Daytona 116576TBR.

Being a high profile football star has its perks. In the horological world, they have access to brands' secret catalogues of exclusive and rare timepieces that the ordinary person cannot obtain. Here, Dembélé presented the UEFA Champions League trophy at the Roland Garros final in France wearing the off-catalogue Rolex Daytona reference 116576TBR.

This Daytona model is crafted in platinum featuring an ice blue Arabic dial and factory-set diamond bezel. Despite being rare, there are various configurations of this off-catalogue platinum Daytona but when paired with the Arabic dial, it might be the rarest of them all. Therefore, it is extremely difficult to nail an exact value but we can estimate that this exclusive piece trades anywhere between £200,000 to £300,000 which is around $250,000 to $400,000!

Patek Philippe Nautilus Travel Time 5990/1A

When holding the Ligue 1 title, Dembélé wore one of the most sought after Patek Philippe models, the Nautilus Travel Time reference 5990/1A. Crafted in stainless steel, this is a fairly complicated piece featuring the fly-back chronograph and dual-time functions displayed on top of an elegant sunburst blue gradient dial that fades out to a black rim.

Focusing on the movement, Patek Philippe incorporated two different complications for this model: the fly-back chronograph and dual-time. Fly-back chronographs are an advanced version of standard chronograph watches as fly-back chronographs allow for less margin of error and enhanced accuracy whilst Patek’s dual time complication allows for efficiency being easier to set in comparison to other GMT watches. This model has a market value of around £90,000, equal to $120,000.

    Rolex Daytona 126500LN

Clearly, Dembélé has a taste for hype watches which are extremely popular in the horological world. In this Instagram post, Dembélé is wearing a Rolex Daytona which is made apparent due to the Oyster bracelet and chronograph pushers. Popping from the watch is the white dial with dark outer rings where the sub-dials are located.

This means the Ballon D’or winner was wearing the highly sought after Rolex Daytona “Panda.” The “Panda” nickname stems from the distinctive white dial which features black outer rings for the chronograph’s white sub-dials. Whilst this dial was released as part of the Daytona reference 116500LN in 2016, we believe that the French star is wearing the newer reference of the Daytona 1265000LN, consisting of some changes to the case and an updated movement, valuing at over £25,000 or $30,000.

Dembélé wears the black dial configuration which isn’t as popular as the blue dial configuration. Additionally, this isn’t the most sought after model from the 5980 range as that would be the rose gold reference 5980/1R, yet enthusiasts still respect and admire the 5980/1A for all its glory. On the secondary market, the model can be seen trading for anywhere between £70,000 ($93,000) all the way to £90,000 ($120,000)depending on numerous factors like the condition of the watch.

    Patek Philippe Complications 5961P

Ousmane Dembélé wearing the Patek Complications 5961P.

Patek Philippe are known for their high levels of craftsmanship creating some of the most complicated timepieces. They are home to two collections called the Complications and Grand Complications which feature some of the most complex timepieces.

Although blurry, the watch Dembélé is wearing in this photo is the Complications reference 5961P. This piece features two complications of an annual calendar and flyback chronograph and the addition of a diamond-set bezel which works beautifully with the blue dial and leather strap. Despite being more complex than other watches in this list, this Patek model trades below its retail value, with prices on the secondary market entering at £90,000 or $120,000.

Ousmane Dembélé seems to be a huge fan of Patek Philippe proving he is a seasoned and knowledgable man of luxury watches. His latest addition of a £300,000/$400,000 Richard Mille RM67-02 is an interesting one with Dembélé could be looking to venture further in the horological world. Our advice would be to look into some timeless classics, potentially some vintage pieces, but out of his current collection, what is your favourite?
