Big news surfaced in the United Kingdom as it was made clear that US President Donald Trump would be visiting England for a second state visit. Trump met the Royal Family and Keir Starmer but now he has left the UK with his visit being divided by the general public.
But let’s stay away from politics and focus on the world of horology. In this article, we present to you the timepieces worn by the US President Donald Trump. Albeit, there aren’t that many, having been spotted wearing only five watches but that doesn’t mean they aren’t special pieces.
Rolex Day-Date Reference 118238
Whilst golfing, Donald Trump was wearing a beautiful Rolex Day-Date cast in 18CT yellow gold. Whilst it is difficult to determine what the specific model reference is due to the angle of his wrist in the picture, we know it is a Day-Date model due to the President bracelet which is a key feature exclusive to the Day-Date. In fact, the Day-Date gains the nickname “Presidential” due to the model’s President bracelet but also because many US Presidents wore the Day-Date.
Before the inception of the Day-Date II's 41mm and Day-Date 40's 40mm case sizes, the Day-Date was produced with a 36mm case size. From this image, it has been concluded that this is a model reference 118238 with a 36mm case size which is a true collector’s Day-Date with iconic status in the horological world. After the reference 18238 discontinued in 2000, the reference 118238 took over to start the new millennium.

This Day-Date 36mm reference is powered by the in-house Calibre 3155 which possesses the Double Quickset and hack seconds function to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Cast in 18CT yellow gold featuring the fluted bezel and stunning champagne diamond dial, this is an all-in-all beautiful timepiece worn by many influential figures yet most fitting for the wrist of a President.
Patek Philippe Golden Ellipse Reference 3738/122
Again whilst golfing, Donald Trump was seen wearing the Patek Philippe Golden Ellipse reference 3738/122. This reference of the Golden Ellipse is crafted in 18CT yellow gold featuring a blue sunburst dial and 18CT gold hour markers. There is no second-hand which remains part of the Golden Ellipse’s models of today.
The “Ellipse” name stems from the unique oval case shape which was approximately 31x35.5mm. This is a lot smaller in comparison to the current Ellipse models which are 34.5x39.5. One thing that has remained similar is the case thickness which is extremely thin with this 3788/122 reference powered by Patek Philippe’s Calibre 240 - a micro-rotor movement.
This piece is considered vintage and extremely sought after by enthusiasts, dating back to the mid-80s all the way through to the late 90s. The Patek Golden Ellipse 3738 reference however is one of the longest serving models, introduced in 1978 then discontinued in 2009 lasting three decades!
Vacheron Constantin Historiques Ultra Fine 1968 Reference 43043/000R-9592
Clearly Trump only wears watches when golfing but we guess that his oversized sleeves hide the timepieces he could be wearing. In the image above, Trump is spotted wearing the Vacheron Constantin Historiques Ultra Fine 1968 reference 43034/000R-9592.
In 2010, Vacheron Constantin produced this piece as a re-edition of the models that were released in 1968. This model is cast in 18CT 4N pink gold featuring a unique square shaped case consisting of a very thin profile. This also means the movement has to be incredibly thin which is achieved by Vacheron Constantin’s Calibre 1120 which is measured at just 2.45mm thick!
Rolex Day-Date Reference 228235
Although there aren’t any photos of Donald Trump wearing this special Day-Date model, we have still included this piece in the article which was gifted to the current US President by Twitch streamer Adin Ross. Trump isn’t the first US President to receive a Rolex Day-Date as a gift as John F. Kennedy received a yellow gold Day-Date from Marilyn Monroe in 1962 with a tributing engraving in the caseback stating “Jack / With love as always / from / MARILYN / May 29th 1962.”
Focusing on the Day-Date reference 228235, this is a really special piece produced from Rolex to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Day-Date collection in 2016. This piece is cast in Rolex’s patented 18CT Everose gold with an olive green dial, fluted bezel and Presidential bracelet. This model is commonly referred to by their nicknames of “Anniversary” and “Olive” by enthusiasts and fanatics.

Trump appeared on Adin Ross’s livestream where the streamer commended the US President and further gave him the Rolex Day-Date “Anniversary” as a present. Trump appeared slightly lackadaisical but did thank Ross for the gift and respected him for his kindness whilst also acknowledging Rolex as a “great watch [...] company.” Rolex is more than a “great watch company,” they are the King of Watches!

In September 2024, Donald Trump announced that he was part of his own watch brand called Trump Watches. Importantly, these Trump Watches do not involve Donald Trump in any part of the watchmaking process, but instead are created and distributed by a Wyoming-based LLC known as TheBestWatchesOnEarth… the American company solely uses the Trump name for marketing purposes, according to their official website and as reported by NBC.
In a promotional video on the Trump Watches website, Donald Trump is seen wearing one of their limited edition pieces called the Fight Fight Fight Red Beauty. This is an extremely bold piece featuring a case size of 42mm with a red aluminium bezel and red dial. Inside the case is the TMI NH35 movement which is a movement produced by Seiko, known for its affordability.
One of the main controversies about Trump watches comes down to the claims surrounding their watches being made in Switzerland. As they use a Seiko movement which is a Japanese watch-making brand, it is hard to believe that Trump Watch creates Swiss-made watches.
Despite Donald Trump not being a huge collector, there are some very special pieces that are incredibly sought after and vintage. Seemingly, Trump knows his stuff wearing Rolex and two of the “Big Three” in the Holy Trinity of watchmaking. If only he had been seen wearing an Audemars Piguet watch...
